They were created long ago by the Old Kingdom and often conceal treasures inside them. Demon Doors are magical doors found all over Albion.

They are called hidden pairs because there might be other candidates for the same cells which can make them hard to spot. This means that you can be certain that those two blank spaces can only be filled with one or the other. Hidden pairs are cells with two identical candidates positioned in opposite corners of one square and nowhere else in the region. Thus, you can eliminate those digits from any other possibilities in that row or column. ![]() Even if you do not know their right placement, you can identify without a doubt their position in the grid. These occur when you have two identical pairs of candidates in a single row or column. Keep your pencil notes updated and check them often through the game to find these. Hidden singles are in fact naked singles that occur once you add a new digit to a row or a column. If when you cross the rows and columns you find a blank space with only one possibility, you have found a naked single and the right answer for that cell. Write down every possibility for each cell. The difficulty of the puzzle varies according to the number of filled cells at the beginning of each game. The game starts with the grid partially filled and the player must find the remaining numbers based on the position of those already given. The goal of the game is to fill each cell with a number from 1 to 9 making sure there are no repeated digits in any column or row in the grid nor within the square itself. Sudoku is played on 9 x 9 grid, divided into 3 x 3 squares separated from each other by thicker lines. Later, newspapers all over the world started including these games in their publications. Nikoli’s sudoku version later spread throughout the world thanks to Wayne Gould, a retired Hong Kong judge who first encounter the game in a Tokyo bookstore and later published a book with his own puzzles in the UK and the US. As the game’s popularity increased in Japan, its designation was eventually shortened to include only the characters for number (数 - Su) and single (独 - Doku), resulting in the name by which we now know it, Sudoku. The second and most import rule is that no more than 32 numbers out of the 81 can be given away, as the goal becomes too easy to reach above this threshold. The given numbers in the beginning must create a pattern in their allocated squares to make the game more visually appealing to the players. Nikoli also introduced two new rules that became essential to the game as we know it today. ![]() Its widespread popularity didn’t come until the game reached Japan in 1984 when Nikoli published it under the name “Suuji wa dokushin ni kaguru” (The numbers must remain single) in the Monthly Nikolist Magazine. The modern Sudoku as we know it nowadays, however, using digits instead of the Latin alphabet, was most likely the creation of Howard Garns, an architect from Indiana who first published his version of the game in the Dell Magazines in 1979. The basis of the game originated in Switzerland in the 18th century when the mathematician Leonhard Euler developed the concept of Latin Squares used in statistical analysis. One of the new vehicles in GTAV currently, the Enus Windsor is very expensive in relation to its performance. Naturally it is not so good off the road, so stunting can be difficult. Both the in-game and real-life vehicles are renowned sports bikes and perform really well in road races. GTAV has a lot of bikes available to purchase and race, but the best one is the Bati 801. Legacy aside though the vehicle is middle-of-the-ground performance-wise, but it is also cheaper than most similarly ranked sports cars so is well worth having. The T20 is currently the most expensive vehicle in GTAV at $2,200,000. Performance-wise it is very middle-of-the-pack as far as sports cars go, but it is impressive never the less and had a lot of mod options. GTAV (Grand Theft Auto 5) is world-renowned, somewhat infamous video game series. ![]() If you appreciate multiplayer brawlers and are after something comical to enjoy with the family, Gang Beasts is without a doubt a game you need to play. Whilst maps come with a clever design, there are only a handful to choose from and whilst it is often amusing to jump back in with some freshly created characters made using the comical customisation options available, there are only so many times you can get taken out by a road sign whilst stood atop a moving lorry before it becomes a little tiresome. Unfortunately, though, this is not a game that you can play for hours on end without things beginning to feel exceptionally repetitive. Failing that, you should give up hope of playing altogether. With Gang Beasts having initially arrived several years ago, like many games the initial excitement has dwindled, and with a player base so small so close to launch, it appears those wanting to get involved in Gang Beasts will need to either gather some friends for local play or persuade others to buy a copy. Unfortunately, though, that online pool is exceptionally shallow, and this is where my disappointment comes in. One huge positive is that Gang Beasts does allow for online play too and if you don’t have friends to hand to enjoy things locally you can jump into the online pool of players to find your opponents. It’s good that players are able to choose how to play, be it cowardly by hiding or making the most of the surroundings and controls to pull off fancy headbutts and dropkicks for some stylish and hilarious knockouts. The maps are unique and offer either a ton of ways to dispatch opposing players or come packed with enough hazards to see you fighting the environment as much as you are your opponents. Gameplay wise Gang Beasts affords some truly memorable moments. This is a blast to play especially when you begin to eliminate players and find a battle of 3v1 ensuing, all as your team or the opposition run dominant and find yourself running for your life or trying your best to overcome the odds in the physics-based playgrounds. Gang on the other hand is essentially Melee but with teams of 3v3, and this sees the last team standing win. A point for the winner, and aggressive feelings from the loser is how these games run, provided you’re playing with friends and not strangers. Melee is exactly that, a melee of who can survive to the end. It’s no rival to FIFA but having no rules does take me back to the good old days of RedCard or This is Football and it can bring a good laugh as you drag each other away from the ball and faceplant others into the walls. Football is as you’d expect two goals, one ball and the one with the most goals at the end of the timer wins. Besides that, a single wave-based game mode in which players try to survive against increasing numbers of seriously determined and encroaching enemies is easily the dullest mode in the game.īesides Waves, there are three other modes to get stuck in with – Melee, Gang and Football. ![]() ![]() Sadly though, unlike that game, Gang Beasts requires you to have multiple other players ready to play too, otherwise you’re not really going to get anywhere thanks to the complete lack of A.I. In play the game looks and feels a lot like that of Human: Fall Flat, one of the other fantastic physics-based games on Xbox One in which you control a gelatinous character. Tapping each one will result in a punch from the associated hand whilst holding the bumper will allow you to grip onto whatever you’re next to, be it a wall, a sign or another player’s head. To do this you’ll need to first master the controls, with the bumpers controlling your hands – left bumper for the left hand, right bumper for the right hand. This may mean throwing them off the map, dropping them into a grinder, or pushing them into a pit of fire for example. The gameplay is fine you must take your gelatinous blob of humanoid-ish jelly and knock out the other competitors before throwing them to their demise in any way possible. It’s simple enough to ensure the basics for a quality party game are met. This is all set in Beef City and the aim is to be the last one standing, in-turn earning the round winning point. For those who’ve not yet heard of Gang Beasts… are you even gamers? I’m kidding of course, but for those of you who don’t know Gang Beasts is a physics based multiplayer beat ’em up party game in which gelatinous characters fight it out within a variety of hazardous environments. ![]() Characters previously unplayable in the prior game have also been added to the roster, bringing the grand total of party members up to nine. ![]() Each character has their own chapters that can be undertaken periodically during the game, and each arc has a satisfying conclusion in its own right. Tales of Xillia 2 fills in gaps left by the original in terms of expanding on the world’s lore as well as fleshing out the backstories of each of your comrades. It also stalls the pace of the narrative, as your comrades will say “Well, we can’t do anything until so and so takes place, so why don’t you go earn some money?” Thanks, guys. I guess in some ways it emulates what actual debt collection feels like, but man is it a nuisance. Nova, the loan shark whose job it is to collect payment is needlessly annoying, sometimes popping up every screen to beg for money. This also influences your ability to navigate between towns. In between chapters, a quota will be put in place of how much money has to be paid back before the next chapter begins. One other aspect that holds back the experience is having to repay the massive loan owed by Ludger for his medical expenses. There are also multiple endings, though the decisions that influence that come near the end of the game. In place of proper responses, you as the player have to decide his replies and certain responses will lead to increased affinity with other characters in your party. It’s doubly awkward during skits involving him, as the only things he utters is “Uhhh…” or “Yeah.” Your cat companion, Rollo, is more talkative by comparison. It doesn’t quite work as well in the Tales universe where characters are inherently chatty. This in of itself is not a bad feature, as several games have managed to do this successfully ( The Legend of Zelda or Chrono Trigger). The one thing you’ll notice immediately is that Ludger is a silent protagonist. In short, there’s a lot going on, and it doesn’t take long before the cast of the original Tales of Xillia gets roped into it. Ludger later learns of potential involvement in the attack by his brother and is tasked with tracking him down, all the while maintaining care of a little girl named Elle who’s obsessed with the idea of finding a mysterious land called Canaan. In what sets off probably the worst bad day of all time, Ludger fails his exam, boards a train that is attacked and subsequently destroyed by terrorists, and is then slapped with the resulting medical bill for his near fatal injuries. Xillia 2 casts you in the role of Ludger Will Kresnik, who aspires to become an agent of the Spirius Corporation like his brother, Julius. Having now completed it, I’m happy to say that even though it’s not devoid of recycled content, it’s still a very solid entry into the franchise. ![]() In addition, the series’ last direct sequel ( Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World) was… not so great. In the case of Tales of Xillia 2, it’s releasing just one year after its predecessor, which doesn’t leave a whole lot of development time. I will eat up any new entry in the Tales of series with enthusiasm, even when common sense dictates that I should keep my standards low.
